With whatever season of life you’re in. Whether you’re a stay at home mom. Whether you go to work everyday. As long as you’re being obedient to Him, can you actually believe that God has you right where He wants you to be?

BEING A MOM
As a stay at home mom, it’s easy to fall into the trap of the mundane. Every day is the same. You get unmotivated and discouraged at your every day tasks and the demands of young children.
This is something I relate so well to. Which is why I’m writing this post. The other day, I loaded all the children up on the gulf cart, and we went riding around the property. For me this was not that exciting, but the children loved it.
In the midst of riding the gulf cart, I’m thinking of all these things I want to do on my blog. I honestly would have rather been in front of my computer typing away or reading my friend’s blog posts.
But no, I’m with my kids, trying to keep them entertained and occupied. What’s important to my children is that I’m just BEING WITH THEM.
There are moments of my every day mothering and being in the home, where it’s just plain down BORING!
But then there are those moments.
Those moments of “coincidences” or “God moments.” Something happened to happen at the right time with my children. Or in the every day things I’m doing, something happened ironically.
These moments are not coincidences or ironic! Every time those moments happen, God is asking me, “Daughter, can you believe I have you right where I want you to be?”
Then I repent, “Oh, God, forgive me. Forgive me for having a bad/negative attitude towards these every day actions I need to do. Forgive me for not believing this is exactly where you want me to be.”
The Lord is constantly reminding me of my purpose in mothering. Here are a few other posts related to this:
We Are Called to be a Mother to Our Children
BEING A BLOGGER
Taking this another route… being a blogger.
I’m constantly thinking, “I want more readers, I want more followers.” (I’m spilling my heart out here, being completely real with you.)
It is easy to get discouraged as a blogger. You don’t know if anyone even really likes what you’re posting. You don’t know if what you’re typing has any effect or influence on people.
It’s easy to compare yourself to other bloggers. The devil likes to throw out constant lies to get me discouraged. But then again, God steps in and reminds me, “Daughter, stop thinking that you’re not where you should be with your blog. Can you believe I have you right where I want you to be?
You don’t have to be a mother and you don’t have to be a blogger for this to be true in your life. With whatever season of life you are walking in right now, as long as you are walking in the obedience of the Lord, you are exactly where He wants you to be.
(One thing I do want to mention- don’t use this truth as a copout to not be growing. It is crucial that you are intentional and growing on a daily basis!)
He has you right where He wants you to be. He is working in you and in the people around you right now.
Thanks for reading. And please share this with your friends who need to hear this today.

Hi Denise.
I came across your post on Pinterest and it blessed me so much. Thank you for the encouragement. I have been a stay home mom for 10 years now. During the 1st 6 years I didn’t feel bored or weary about life at home since there was always something to be done. But now that my 2 kids 10 and 8 years are at school, I find myself in a “rut”. There are days when I don’t want to get out of bed because it’s just the usual things over and over again. It all just feels so mundane. Please pray for me to overcome this feeling of hopelessness and feeling of being not so useful.
God blessings upon you.
Warm regards,

Hi Adele, praying for you! Have things gotten any better since you commented here on this post? Have you been able to feel more purposeful at all?

Denise, I wholeheartedly agree. I had 5 young children at one time and know exactly where you are! But I didn’t have my blog then. I didn’t start it until some of them were out of the house. And I just sent the last one off to the military last week! But He has a different plan for each of us and we just have to follow along and be blessed. Found you at Trekking Thru, God bless you.

Thanks for stopping by, Steph! That’s so true what you said, “we just have to follow along and be blessed.” Love it!

Hi Denise, It’s nice to meet you and read your blog. I love your vulnerability and believe others need to see that. I’ve been there in the mundane/ greatest calling in the world – a mom (at home). And now, I stand with you as one trying to pursue my dream – writing. One thing that God has shown me is that He called me to write. Period. I will write. I want my blog to grow, so I will do all the studying, steps, and hard work to try to make that happen, but that is His job. May He be glorified first in our parenting and then in our writing! Praying for you! Thanks for being real and linking up at my blog today!!! Hugs!

Hi Char! You are so right about what you! I checked out your blog and love it! That’s so great you’re following your desire and call. 🙂

Denise- thanks for this encouragement! I “get” this so much as a SAHM. I forget He has me where He wants me.

Thanks for hoping over, Julie! I think this is something all of us SAHM mom bloggers need to be reminded of.

I also struggle with some of the same things, as a sahm and a homeschooler who blogs. It’s easy to think I’m not doing enough when it comes to blogging because being a Mom and homeschooler takes up so much of my time! I’ve learned (most of the time) that I have the time that I have and I must use that to the best of my ability.
deniserenae says
I completely understand where you are coming from, Rosanna! I also homeschool my children, and like you said, “you must use the time that you have to the best of your ability.”

What an encouragement to the moms and bloggers. So much truth here! I will be posting this as the next Featured post for the Salt & Light Link up on Married by His Grace blog. Thank you for sharing!

Wow, thanks so much, Carmen! I feel honored that you chose me!

I am right there with you as a stay at home mom and blogger. I recently found myself comparing my blog to that of another in a similar niche. Then I found out that while I have only been blogging a bit less than 2 years, have 3 young kids I am homeschooling, and no extra money to spend on my blog, the other blog has been around for 2 years. The blogger also has a full time assistant and older children that she doesn’t homeschool. We really shouldn’t compare. Everyone’s circumstances, gifts, and callings are so different!
deniserenae says
I’m in the same boat at as you, Tara. That’s so true what you said. Thanks for your encouragement and helping with the perspective.
Cindy says
I hear you! In fact, I could have written this, except for the SAHM part, lol.
When I read certain threads, I have to immediately refuse to compare myself to others. Or when I read that someone was chosen for something, I have to stop comparing.
That’s a dangerous game, comparison, wouldn’t you think?
I have to remind myself of Whom I write for and that He invites those whom He wants to read the words He has given me. It’s not about me, it is all about Him. And He has placed me here for His reason.
The same with you, sweet Denise! Keep on doing the work of the ministry that He has given you!
deniserenae says
Thanks Cindy for your words of encouragement! I daily need to remind myself that I’m doing this blog for Him.

Denise, love your gut-honest thoughts and vulnerability here. It’s just like the enemy to cause us to not be happy in the moment or the season of life right in front of us. And to cause us to compare ourselves to others. I fall prey to this often and I’m a work in progress. Life is too short to look back with regrets. Thanks for this reminder. I’m celebrating today right where the Lord has “me” today!
deniserenae says
Thanks, Karen, for your encouragement! And I really like what you said, “Celebrating today right where the Lord has you.” That helps to direct my perspective for each day.

I hear you. I shared your post about bedtime routines with my husband last night, and we loved it. I thought, “I definitely need to connect with her!” And here you are writing about the same things I struggle with sometimes as a SAHM and a blogger. My blog occupies more of my thoughts and more of my time than I’d like, but I also know that it’s what God has for me to do. I’m always looking after that balance and praying for God to help me use my time wisely and to simply do the right thing. Thanks so much for your encouragement.

Its great to know more SAHMs who blog! Thanks for pursuing me. Looking forward to reading more of your stuff!
